Reinstatement/Retakes: If a student’s performance is adversely affected by authenticated illness or other unforeseen circumstances, the Board of Examiners may set aside the affected results. In such cases, the student may be offered the opportunity to retake the assessment as if for the first time.
Deferral Limitations
Justification: Work pressure, professional deadlines, or “running out of time” are not considered sufficient justification for an extension. Frequency: Only one extension is allowed per module. Late Submission: If work is submitted late without an approved DF but within seven days of the deadline, the maximum mark available is 50%. If work is more than seven days late without an approved DF, it is not marked and is recorded as a failure. Program Duration: The maximum time to complete the full program (including any extensions) is 12 months, unless specific prior extensions are granted.
Assessment
Evaluations are based on the student’s ability to apply theoretical material to their work environment, evaluate arguments critically, and justify conclusions coherently.
Academic Integrity
Academic Irregularities: The Board of Examiners may fail a student for cheating, plagiarism, collusion, falsifying data, or impersonation. Student Undertaking: All submitted material must be the student’s own unaided work.
Resit Policy
Permission: The Board of Examiners may permit a student who fails a module to resit the assessment. Limits: A maximum of two resits is permitted per module. If a student fails after two resits, they must withdraw from the program. Timeline: All resits must be completed within 2 months after the release of the previous term’s results.
